RUFFS is more than a restaurant it is a hub for youth programs, internships and much more.
RUFFS strive to bring the connection of fresh locally grown produce and products to our community along with introducing healthier eating habits with alternative food selections.
RUFFS will help reestablish the connection between whole foods and people. It will help to reclaim our nutritional values in not only what we eat but how we eat.
RUFFS will help with learning to enjoy the varietal fresh fruits and vegetables that are available for consumption. At the same time establishing the connections between our local rural and urban farmers.
It equates to the three "E's."
Education, Economics and Environment.
"E:" for Education: By teaching people about healthier food alternatives.
"E" For Economic: circulating the dollars to the local farmers to take back to rural areas in exchange for their fresh produce and products.
"E" for Environmental: This part means less traveling to deliver the fresh farm products as well as cutting the carbon footprints to pollution.
All of these components are important with the intentions focused on child and senior nutrition. Bringing healthier meals in to households, daycare programs and after school programs. This will help people to have a healthier happier life style.
R.U.F.F.S Goals are....
To implement a Grow, Eat and Learn Program (G.E.L) by visiting local farms in rural and urban areas. This program will teach important gardening skills needed to assist the student not only in how to grow a garden but recognize various produce choices.
